tools you will need: drill, jigsaw, file, tape measure, pencil, caulk, screw driver, 1/2 " or larger drill bit, sand paper, utility knife, painters tape, wood glue |

using the frame that comes with the glass insert, mark your cut lines on the door. Make sure everything is square, centered and even.

Use the painters tape to outline the outer edge of the cut line. This will protect the surface of the door from the jigsaw. | |||||||||||||

Drill holes into the door for the jigsaw. Using the jigsaw carefully cut along the cut lines. Make sure the jigsaw blade is longer than the door even on the up stroke of the saw action. |

very important to caulk the inside lip of the frame. Also, a good idea to stain or seal the whole frame, all sides, before installing the frame. | |||||||||||||

You want to see the caulk ooze out of the seam. This is a very important step, you don't want any moisture getting in between the frame and the door. Let the caulk dry and using your utility knife carefully cut away excess caulk. | |||||||||||||

Outside frame installed. The outside frame does not have any predrilled holes. | |||||||||||||

On the inside frame, again caulk around the edges where you will install the glass unit. Both frames will need caulk. | |||||||||||||

The inside frame is firmly attached to the outside frame using the screws. Once screwed together glue the dowels into the screw holes. After glue drys, sand the dowel down until flush with frame. | ||||||||||||

Seal, stain, paint, whatever you plan to do to finish your door. And voila, you are complete. | |||||||||||||
